Hydro Tester – Single Tube Power Pack Manufacturers
Before a tube undergoes hydrostatic testing, the machine must position it, engage the sealing arrangement and establish the required conditions for pressurisation. After testing, pressure must be released before the machine opens and unloads the tube.
Jyoti Hydraulic is a manufacturer and supplier of Hydro Tester – Single Tube Power Packs for the hydraulic functions of single-tube testing machines. Share your machine layout and operating sequence to discuss the appropriate power-pack configuration, controls and quotation.
Overview
One Tube, Several Coordinated Operations
A single-tube hydro tester processes one tube at a time at its testing station. Depending on the machine design, hydraulic actuators may operate the sealing heads, clamps, positioning mechanisms and other movements.
The power pack supplies hydraulic oil to these actuators through a controlled circuit. Its pump, motor, reservoir and valves must be selected around the force, movement speed and sequence required by the connected equipment.
A well-matched hydraulic supply supports the machine’s operating cycle. Test accuracy and acceptance decisions, however, also depend on the water-pressure system, measuring instruments, sealing condition and approved test procedure.
Understand the Two Pressure Requirements
When specifying a hydro tester power pack, distinguish between hydraulic operating pressure and tube test pressure.
Hydraulic operating pressure drives the machine’s oil-powered actuators. Tube test pressure is the pressure applied to the test liquid inside the specimen. These pressures serve different purposes and should be stated separately.
In some designs, hydraulic oil also drives a pressure intensifier that pressurises the test liquid. In that arrangement, the relationship between oil pressure and test pressure depends on the intensifier design and operating conditions.
The quotation should therefore establish whether the power pack serves:
- Machine movements and sealing functions.
- A hydraulic drive for the test-pressure intensifier.
- Both functions through a coordinated circuit.
A hydraulic oil power pack should not be assumed to pump test water directly.
Where the Power Pack Fits in the Testing Sequence
The complete machine determines the sequence. A typical arrangement may involve the following stages:
Position and secure the tube.
The handling and locating arrangement places the specimen in the testing position. Hydraulic movement may be used where included in the machine design.
Engage the sealing heads.
The actuators move the sealing arrangement into position. Required force depends on the sealing design and the loads generated during testing.
Fill, vent and pressurise.
The test-liquid circuit fills the tube and removes trapped air according to the approved procedure. Pressurisation begins only after the required machine conditions are satisfied.
Maintain the specified test condition.
The test system monitors pressure for the prescribed duration. Any required hydraulic holding function must be defined in the circuit design.
Depressurise and release.
The machine confirms the required pressure-release condition before withdrawing the sealing heads and permitting unloading.
Selection Details That Affect Performance
A suitable power pack must do more than reach a stated pressure. It must supply the required flow, operate the correct valve sequence and suit the machine’s working environment.
| Selection detail | What needs to be established |
|---|---|
| Hydraulic actuators | Number, cylinder dimensions, strokes and operating functions |
| Pressure requirement | Working pressure for each hydraulic function |
| Flow requirement | Oil demand and required movement times |
| Holding conditions | Duration and acceptable pressure variation |
| Test-pressure generation | Separate pump or hydraulically driven intensifier |
| Control interface | Commands, feedback signals and machine interlocks |
| Operating duty | Cycles per hour and daily running hours |
| Oil management | Filtration, reservoir and cooling requirements |
Tube diameter, wall thickness and length are also important inputs, but they do not independently determine the power-pack specification.
Planning a Replacement or New Installation?
For an existing hydro tester, start with the hydraulic diagram and component nameplates. Record the current operating pressure, pump delivery, motor rating and any problems observed during the cycle.
Slow sealing-head movement, pressure instability or oil overheating may involve the connected circuit as well as the power unit. Reviewing the full arrangement helps identify the required changes.
For a new machine, provide the actuator details, planned sequence and intended test-pressure system. This allows the hydraulic supply and machine controls to be considered together before equipment is selected.
Requesting a Price from Jyoti Hydraulic
The Single Tube Hydro Tester Power Pack price depends on its function and configuration. Pump selection, motor capacity, valve arrangement, reservoir, monitoring devices, cooling and electrical controls all influence the supply cost.
For a technical quotation, send:
- Tube size range and material.
- Required tube test pressure and holding time.
- Hydraulic cylinder details.
- Sealing-head arrangement.
- Test-pressure generation method.
- Target production cycle.
- Electrical supply and control requirements.
- Available installation space.
Confirm whether the quotation includes the control panel, hoses, connectors, intensifier, test-water equipment and commissioning support. These items should be identified separately where applicable.
Buyer Questions
Does the power pack include the complete hydro tester?
Not automatically. The machine frame, sealing heads, handling equipment, test-water circuit and measuring instruments must be identified in the agreed supply scope.
Can one power pack handle different tube sizes?
Potentially, where its pressure, flow and control arrangement suit the machine’s full operating range. Seals, tooling, head travel and machine capacity must also accommodate those sizes.
Does a fall in test pressure always mean the tube is leaking?
No. Seal leakage, valve leakage, temperature changes or measurement issues can also affect the reading. Results must be evaluated using the specified test method and machine diagnostics.
Are automatic operation and test reports included?
These depend on the supplied controls, sensors and software. A hydraulic power pack alone does not establish automatic testing or reporting capability.
Can the machine test to any required standard?
Compliance depends on the complete test system and procedure. Provide the applicable specification so its pressure, duration, instrumentation and reporting requirements can be reviewed.
